Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of very fine, sterilised, disposable needles into points on the body. These acupuncture points correspond to energy channels or meridians, and an acupuncturist can stimulate the body's own healing response and help to restore its natural balance. During a hypnopunctureTM treatment acupuncture points are specifically selected in a number of different regions of the body to have a dramatic effect on the body's metabolism and digestive systems.

Does Acupuncture hurt?
No. You are aware of most of the needles being inserted but once they are in place the feeling dissipates. Once all needles are in it is almost impossible to actually tell how many have been inserted.

What will I feel?
Once the needles are in you may start to feel a heaviness in the area of the needles or along the limb. At different intervals during the treatment you may also become aware of different points as the energies shift around the body. These are all very positive reactions and not unpleasant.

How long does the treatment last?
Once the acupuncture needles are inserted they will remain in while the hypnotherapy is carried out: approximately 30 minutes.

How will I feel after a treatment?
After a treatment patients will normally feel very relaxed and maybe even a little sleepy. Our bodies and minds do not often get the chance to relax fully and it is beneficial if you can keep in this state after the treatment.

Is acupuncture safe?
All our acupuncturists are fully qualified and hold at least a qualifications to BSc level. They all are members of a regulatory body such as ATCM & BAcC and hold insurance.

The acupuncture needles used are all pre-sterilised disposable needles that conform with safe practice guidelines.
